Where can I buy cable car tickets?
You can purchase tickets directly at the ticket counters at the valley station in Hintertux or conveniently in advance on our online store. In addition, ticket machines are available around the clock at every valley station—you can also conveniently return your deposit cards there.
How long does the ascent to 3,250m take with the "Panoramaticket Faszination Eis"?
The gondola ride from the valley station in Hintertux to the Gefrorene Wand at 3,250m takes around 40 minutes. You travel on three cable cars (Gletscherbus 1, 2 and 3) and change twice.
Are there any discounts for seniors?
Senior citizens are subject to the regular adult ticket prices.
Do people with disabilities receive a discount?
Guests with a disability rating of 60% or higher are eligible for the youth rate on ski passes and the child rate on pedestrian tickets, upon presentation of a valid disability ID.
Does the Tux-Finkenberg Region Guest Card offer any discounts?
The guest card does not offer any discounts on mountain railway tickets. You can find an overview of the discounts and benefits offered by the guest card on the Tux-Finkenberg Tourism Association’s website.
What children's rates are available?
Summer 2026: Children under 10 ride for free (ID required) when accompanied by a responsible adult. The children’s fare applies to children born between 2011 and 2016.
Winter 2026/27: The children’s rate applies to children born between 2012 and 2020. Children born on or after January 1, 2021, ride free when accompanied by a responsible adult.
Are ticket prices different when purchasing online versus in person?
No. Ticket prices are the same online and at the box office.
Are there group or family rates?
We do not offer special family tickets. Discounted rates are available for groups. Please inquire directly at the ticket office in Hintertux or contact us in advance: info@hintertuxergletscher.at | +43 5287 8510
When is it possible to ski on the Hintertux Glacier?
The Hintertux Glacier offers the longest ski season in Austria, from late September to late July. The access road is open to pedestrians 365 days a year.
How does the ski pass refund process work?
In the event of illness or following a skiing accident, we offer a pro-rata refund of the ski pass. To qualify, you must provide a doctor’s note. Days already used are excluded from the refund. Click here to access the online form.
