The pink glowing alpine rose blossoms are a true spectacle in early summer! Above the Waldhoaralm, the gravel path transitions into a forest path leading downhill. The trail is diverse, and the forest sections provide pleasant shade on hot days. On the descent stage from the Lizumer Hütte down to Tux-Lanersbach in the rear Zillertal, you leave the Tuxer Voralpen, which are often green as far as the eye can see, and enter the realm of the glaciated Zillertal Alps. Apart from the almost 1200 m ascent into the valley, which is hard on the knees, there are no surprising challenges awaiting the hiker. From the Lizumer Hütte, you climb, roughly speaking, in an easterly direction to the Torjoch, the highest point of the hike at 2,386 meters. Beyond the pass, the trail descends again on lush green ground. The path soon divides and you follow the “Nasse Tux” or path number 321 to Lanersbach. A little way after the Torsee lake, there is an exposed section that has to be negotiated with the help of a rope, after which the trail leads via the Nasse Tuxalm on paths and tracks, through meadows and forest down to Lanersbach.
