Guided Glacier Hike
Glaciers are fascinating, no matter when you take a tour on the glacier you will always discover something new.
Especially during summer the individualities of the glacier can be seen especially well. Climate change takes its toll on the glacier. All glaciers in the alps are melting. In this tour you will learn how the current situation. Furthermore, you will learn about other interesting insights like the effect of sahara sand on the melting process. A nature park guide explains the glacier and its unique phenomena like ice crevices, moraines, glacial polish and much more.
From the observation decks you have the best overview and the chance to go to the top of the mountain with the Gletscherbus 3.
- Dates: every Thursday from June 6th, 2024 to September 26th, 2024
- Registration required under www.myzillertal.at
- Meeting point: at 10.00 a.m. and 12.00 a.m. at the Tuxer Fernerhaus forecourt (please calculate with 30 minutes transfer time from the valley station to the Tuxer Fernerhaus)
- Duration: about 1 hour
- Maximum number of participants: 12 persons
- Character: very easy; no experience required; ideal for children from the age of 7 years old
- Equipment: Good shoes, sun protection, jacket and cap
- Admission fee: adults: €15,-- children: €7.50 (7-14 years); Free for guests of partner enterprises and nature park members
