Guided Glacier Hike

Glaciers are fascinating, no matter when you take a tour on the glacier you will always discover something new.

Especially during summer time the individualities of the glacier can be seen especially well. Climate change takes its toll on the glacier. All glaciers in the alps are melting. In this tour you will learn how the current situation. Furthermore you will learn about other interesting insights like the effect of sahara sand on the melting process. Our nature park guide explains the glacier and its unique phenomena like ice crevices, moraines, glacial polish and much more.

From the observation decks you have the best overview and the chance to go to the top of the mountain with the Gletscherbus 3.

Dates: every Thursday from June 1st, 2023 to September 28th, 2023

Meeting point: at 10.00 a.m. and 12.00 a.m. at the Tuxer Fernerhaus forecourt
Duration: about 1 hour
Maximum number of participants: 9 persons
Character: very easy; no experience required; ideal for children from the age of 7 years old
Equipment: Good shoes, sun protection, jacket and cap
Admission fee: adults: € 15,-- children: € 7,50 (7-14 years); Free for guests of partner enterprises and nature park members
