Hintertux Glacier "Behind the scenes"
As part of three exclusive technology tours in April, guests have the unique opportunity to take a look behind the scenes at the Hintertux Glacier and the enormous technology that makes year-round winter fun possible.
Meeting point is at 11 a.m. at the mountain station of Gletscherbus 2 with the managers of the Zillertaler Gletscherbahn. Divided into small groups, the tour leads to Gletscherbus 3, which is one of the most spectacular cable cars in the Alps. True pioneering spirit can also be felt when visiting the 10-seater Gefrorene Wand, which was built 10 years ago as the world's first 10-seater monocable gondola with heated seats by the Doppelmayr company.
For many guests, a visit to the snow groomer garage in the Tuxer Fernerhaus is an absolute must on the tour, where the 600 hp machines are hard at work 365 days a year. It then takes about 5 minutes to walk to the pumping station. There you can learn a lot of interesting facts about the complex system of artificial snow production. Do you know what is used to produce artificial snow on the Hintertux Glacier and where the water required for it comes from? These and many other questions will be answered by our operations managers as part of the technical tour.
With all the technical impressions and information in your luggage, you can then take the Pistenbully back to the Tuxer Fernerhaus in a relaxed manner, where the technical tour ends after about 2 hours.
We look forward to numerous interest and participation. Attention: Limited number of participants - ticket booking absolutely necessary!
