FIS Ski Weltcup Opening Telemark
From 30th November to 3rd December 2017 the Telemark Opening takes place in Hintertux! The best telemarkers from the world are fighting beside fame and glory for important world cup points. From 14 nations the best male and female riders are arriving to compete in the disciplines Classic Sprint and Parallel. All races will be battled at track number 3 and hence they can be followed from the sun terrace of the Tuxer Fernerhaus. The Tuxer Fernerhaus is the perfect location for all fans to watch the races. Characteristic for the Telemark races is that the different Nordic Disciplines are combined. In addition to the downhill the rider has to master a jump, of course with the classic telemark landing. The rider has to pass a spinner (360° steep face curve) and afterwards has to master a Skating Passage till he finally passes the finish line. The driving style is very important for the point allocation. The rider should avoid to not meet the given minimum bore or to not make the telemark step. For these mistakes it gives Penalties (penalty seconds). Therefore the race is amusing and exciting from the start till the end.
INFO: At the same time also the Freeheeler European Opening takes place in Tux.
