Hiking paradise Finkenberger Almbahnen
Up to exhilarating heights with the Finkenberger Almbahnen
In no time at all, the Finkenberger Almbahnen lift whisks visitors to 2,095 metres above sea level and straight into the diverse Finkenberg/Penken hiking area. Passengers can glide from Finkenberg (850 m) to the middle station (1.700 m) in the 4-person single cable gondola lifts, before taking the 8-person panorama gondola to the Penkenjoch Peak.
High above mundane everyday life, you can soak up the summer mountain panorama, enjoy some active sport or simply indulge in the essential pleasures of rest and relaxation. A fabulous hiking trail network invites you to take extensive hikes – maybe to the Rastkogel, from where those that reach the summit can enjoy stunning views of the Inn, Zillertal and Tux Valleys. The idyllic Mount Penken moorland nature trail begins right next to the middle station of the lifts and is an informative walk for the whole family. Embedded in mountain landscapes at the Penkenjoch, the reservoir is a real eye catcher and a popular attraction for hikers and excursionists. The rustic mountain huts and alpine farms of the region are wonderful places to stop for a breather and enjoy some welcome refreshment.
