Electric vehicle charging station at Hintertux Glacier
Spend an unforgettable day on the slopes of the Hintertux Glacier while your car charges from a renewable source of energy - a service now offered to all guests with electric cars. Eight charging points are available in the underground car park at the base station of the glacier lifts in Hintertux. The wall-mounted boxes are equipped with a standard European type 2 connector for speedy charging as well as the conventional type F (safety plug) for regular charging. The Type 2 connection provides a maximum power output of 22.2 KW, meaning an electric vehicle requires only around one to two hours to fully charge, depending on existing battery levels.
The Zillertaler Gletscherbahn Cable Car Co. consider the provision of electric vehicle charging stations, even in the rearmost Zillertal Valley, belongs to customer service. Based on increased customer demand, the project was brought to fruition together with provincial energy suppliers, TIWAG-Tiroler Wasserkraft AG, and combines state of the art charging systems with electric supplies created by 100% renewable energy sources.
The signposted parking spaces in the underground carpark are easy to find with their distinctive markings. Both charging systems are listed on the digital map for electric vehicle charging stations, which can be downloaded free from the internet. Visitors to the Hintertux Glacier consequently benefit from an attractive infrastructure, including electricity from a renewable energy source.
