FAQs

What is the Nature's Ice Palace?

It is a glacial crevasse that occurred naturally and was discovered only recently – a captivating ice formation of glittering ice crystals.

Where is the Nature's Ice Palace?

This icy journey starts only 200 metres away from the highest point of the Hintertuxer Glacier. A secure path leads from the viewing platform at the Gefrorenen Wand (3,250 metres above sea level, with stunning views over the Zillertal Mountains) to the palace gateway.

Where can I book this guided tour?

Directly at the cash desk or at the top station of the Gletscherbus 3 lifts (Infopoint). Groups should reserve in advance at Natursport Tirol, Roman Erler +43 676 307 0000 or info@hintertuxergletscher.at, +43 5287 8510.
ATTENTION!!! Paying by credit card (EC-cash card, VISA or MasterCard) is only possible at the glacier lift base station in Hintertux. It is only possible to pay cash at the Infopoint.

What equipment do I need?

Hiking footwear and a jacket is recommended. It is possible to make the tour wearing ski boots. The temperature is constantly between 0°C and -2°C. Helmets are provided to all participants free of charge.

Tours of Nature's Ice Palace are only possible with an experienced guide from Natursport Tirol and with the appropriate equipment.

How many people can make the tour at one time?
