Glacier Action

Looking for physically challenging skiing over demanding long pistes? Then look no further! Try out a Glacier tour accompanied by a qualified glacier guide, a 3 - 4 hour caving expedition through the unique natural attraction of the Spannagel caves, or for those who dare, scale the summit of the Olperer Mountain with an experienced mountain guide. Daring participants also have the option of abseiling down into a glacier crevasse.

Cave trekking

During the cave trek through the Spannagel cave – Europe's largest rock cave – you get to explore tunnels and shafts that are usually only accessible to scientists. Don't miss out on this fantastic experience of marble, primary rock and chalk!

Olperer ascent

The majestic Olperer Mountain, at 3.476 metres above sea level towers over the pistes of the Hintertuxer Glacier. Accomplished climbers scale the peak of the Tuxer Alps highest mountain in around 2 hours, where magnificent views from the summit more than compensate for the efforts of the climb.

Ice climbing

A novel way to experience the Hintertuxer Glacier – ice climbing. Aided by the use of crampons and ice picks, those who dare make their way through challenging routes of ice. Of course helmets, ropes and safety equipment are standard gear on all tours. Intrepid climbers also have the opportunity abseil down into breathtaking glacier crevasses. (Abseiling is not obligatory!)

Guided Glacier Tour

Exploring the Hintertux Glacier with a certified guide is a particularly exciting experience. Not only will you discover interesting information about a glacier’s physical characteristics, but also learn about glaciology, glacial formation and growth, the effects and expansion of ice on earth.
