Wheelchair access on the Hintertux Glacier

It could not be easier:

With full wheelchair access, visitors float effortlessly with the gondola lifts from the underground car park at the lift base station in Hintertux (1,500 m), up to the Panorama Terrace at an incredible 3,250 m. No matter if you are pushing a buggy or wheelchair & Co. – the wonderful feeling of freedom above the clouds and the stunning panoramic mountain views can be enjoyed here in the Zillertal Valley by absolutely everyone!

Wheelchair accessible

Accessibility is of utmost importance at the Hintertux Glacier all year round ski resort: All cable cars are accessible at ground level. At the Tuxer Fernerhaus Restaurant (2,660 m) and the Panorama-Restaurant Sommerbergalm (2,100 m), all doors, elevators and toilets have been designed to be wheelchair accessible.

The official training ground

Due to its exemplary disabled friendly infrastructure, the Hintertux Glacier is not only the official training grounds for many disabled athletes, it is a pioneering venue in the disabled sports scene. A fact recognised by the International Olympic and Paralympic Committee, who awarded the Hintertux Glacier Ski Resort with the prestigious IOC/IAKS Award in 2005, a special prize awarded to sporting facilities adapted to the needs of the disabled.
