The starting point for this stunning, scenic hike is the Sommerbergalm (2.100 m). Path Nr. 16 leads past alpine huts and along a steep trail to the „Waldeben”; with lush alpine pastures, surrounded by mighty waterfalls and steep rock faces. After going through a section of forest the path then forks. Nature lovers should take Path Nr. 526, down a challenging descent, past the famous Walfischmaul – “Whale’s Mouth“ (a magnificent, split boulder) as well as the Schrauben and Kessel Waterfalls which are both heritage listed natural monuments.
