Spannagelweg

From the Tuxer Fernerhaus (2nd section of the glacier lifts, 2.660 m), walk along Path Nr. 526 for around 15 minutes downhill until you reach the Spannagelhaus (2.531 m.).  Here you have the opportunity to explore the Spannagelhöhle Caves, the largest caves in central Europe open to public viewing. Take Path Nr. 325, or the footpath that branches off it, to make the descent to the Sommerbergalm (2.100 m). Many trails lead from the Sommerbergalm down to the valley; either via the Bichlalm, along the Waterfall Trail or quite simply use the lifts.
